Alexander Ontiveros

Co-Director, Story Writer, Producer, and Casting Director

Alex Ontiveros is a filmmaker, artist and photographer. A lifelong Miamian, Alex took inspiration from local radio stations and the unique subtropical environment of South Florida as a basis for the very first drafts of the Airwaves script. Alex’s love for old-fashioned methods of storytelling in the movies, from how the camera is used to the use of stop-motion and practical effects, have determined the artistic direction of his projects. When he’s not filming a movie either behind the camera or throwing himself onto the floor in front of the camera, you can find him drawing in a sketchbook or taking a photograph or two of an interesting-looking wall.

From his early love of theater and film, it has been his constant, even when he was working in the government, or the family business or even as a government contractor, the way he unwinds is by watching tv, movies and film and thinking about how things are made/created. When tragedy struck, and he lost his job three years ago, he looked at it as the opportunity to finally pursue his passion and transitioned to filmmaking. Presently finishing his second Bachelor’s Degree at Miami Dade College in Film, Media and Digital Production before pursuing his Masters of Fine Arts in Film. His knowledge and passion for film, filmmaking and film history has allowed him to host a podcast that focused on the South Florida film industry and he is the President, Executive Producer and co-founder of Brain Bucket Productions, LLC along with teaching high school film and middle school photography at the Miami Arts Charter School. His goal is to continue developing original films and television shows with compelling storylines and help  develop future filmmakers.
